Hillside Drive – Hill Climb Game Review
We have been playing Hillside Drive for a while now and it’s been amazing so far. It’s kind of like based on the Hill Climb Racing game – with better graphics and relaxing gameplay. There are a dozen vehicles including Tesla Truck, Three-Wheelers, Sports Car, etc. are available. The race tracks are beautifully designed where you move along the amazingly crafted environment – starting with the countryside. You will be collecting the packs for the keys to unlock new cars or parts. Each vehicle gives you a new set of tasks. The fuel and the upgrade system keeps you engaged in grinding coins and to break the highest score possible.
F2P Vs P2W Review
From our perspective, Hillside Drive is a free-to-play game with not so heavy or any P2W mechanics at all. It does not feature PvP. You are free to take as much time to grind the stuff like EXP to unlock the next race tracks, coins to do upgrades, etc. The two currencies in the game are the coins and the screw-nuts. Screw Nuts would be the premium one here, while the coins can easily be earned by playing the game. For Screw-Nuts, you will be doing car quests or achievements. Screw-Nuts are used for the boxes – boxes contain keys, blueprints, coins stuff. If you spend, you can unlock cars fast or do upgrades easily. If you are a f2p, you can still progress at a good rate and unlock all the cars eventually. But that would take time.
The gameplay is pretty basic. You choose the car and drive through the map for coins and packs. The objective is to score as many points as you can in one turn by going as far as you can. The vehicle consumes fuel as you drive and it will keep draining until you find the fuel pack on the map. While driving, you will face a lot of challenges like climbing high hills, objects, low fuel, muddy surface, etc.
You will collect the boxes from the races. These boxes take time to open. You might get keys, blueprints, or other stuff. To beat the high score, you will upgrade the vehicle’s parts. For example – engine. There is no energy system, so you can enjoy it endlessly. It could be repetitive.
The graphics and visuals are amazing. The music is OK. Controls are smooth and beginner-friendly.
It contains Ads and IAPs. Players can watch video ads for free coins. IAPs include packages containing cars or paints, screw-nut purchases, etc. As said above, if you spend the real bucks, you can buy the currencies and progress faster. F2P players can take time and grind stuff or rely on free stuff like Ads rewards, tasks rewards, achievements.
We would rate it 4/5 stars. Highlights: –
- Great graphics and visuals
- Simple and easy-to-play
- Lots of cars to unlock – each one gives you different tasks
- Garage(customizations) and upgrades system
- Could be repetitive; it would be good if they add a few more interesting game modes to the game
So this would be all in this Hillside Drive game review. What do you think about this game? Share your opinions in the comments below. If you are new to the game, make sure to check out the basic tips here.
